All-Star Pro Elite Japan Series J2 Pattern 34" Catcher's Mitt

The All-Star Pro-Elite Japan J2 is a 34-inch catcher’s mitt for advanced players who want the receiving advantages of a Japanese pattern with the flexibility of an open back. Its rotated hand construction shifts the finger stalls to help the catcher present the pocket naturally and receive without forcing the wrist into an exaggerated position.

Premium Himeji leather gives the mitt a firm, structured starting feel with the durability needed for frequent bullpen, practice, and game use. The lighter Japanese-style build makes the mitt easier to move around the strike zone and can reduce the forearm fatigue associated with heavier traditional catcher’s mitts.

Low-profile thumb and pinky padding opens more of the receiving surface and creates a larger usable sweet spot. The loose-web construction allows the pocket to begin forming sooner than a tightly laced web and lets the catcher tighten the web gradually as the mitt settles into its final shape.

The open back provides more freedom around the wrist and makes it easier to personalize the fit. Catchers who prefer a tightly connected, highly supportive feel may favor the closed-back J1, while players who value flexibility and adjustability should feel more comfortable in this J2.

The Camel and Light Brown colorway gives the mitt an unmistakably traditional Japanese look. It is understated compared with the Royal/Navy/White version, but the tonal leather combination makes the pattern and construction the center of attention.
